CityPlace Doral – South Florida’s premier wellness, entertainment, dining and restaurant destination located in the heart of Doral – is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a series of events. Commemorated annually from Sept. 15-Oct. 15, National Hispanic Heritage Month pays tribute to the histories, cultures and contributions of generations of Hispanic Americans who have influenced and enriched today’s society.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, the community is invited to indulge in traditional Hispanic dishes and treats at any of CityPlace Doral’s Hispanic restaurants including Chico Malo, Novecento, Kuba Cabana, SuViche, Juan Valdez, 4D Gelateria and Savour Baked.
The community can also support CityPlace Doral’s Hispanic-owned retailers by shopping at Magnolia, Ella Boutique, Baccio Couture, VLA Jewelry, Marina Kids, Tarbay, Garota or Mr. Splash.
Additionally, each Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m., CityPlace Doral hosts, “The Market on the Plaza,” where the community is invited to stroll and shop local vendors at the Fountain Plaza featuring handmade goods, sweet treats, street food and more.

DORCAM to Present SurDeluxe, Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m.
To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Doral Contemporary Art Museum (DORCAM) will present a concert with Spanish rock band SurDeluxe in CityPlace Doral’s Fountain Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. Composed of four experienced musicians who are united by the passion they feel when performing live music, SurDeluxe performs the greatest hits of the golden age of rock in Spanish.
During the concert, guests can enjoy grab-and-go bites from CityPlace Doral’s restaurants at The Oasis experience at CityPlace Doral’s Fountain Plaza which features a relaxing, open-air atmosphere, Adirondack chairs, tables, umbrellas and oversized games.
The Miami Improve Comedy Theater, multiple dates
The Miami Improv Comedy Theater will host special performances throughout Hispanic Heritage Month. The full lineup includes:
- Sunday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m. – The Colombian Experience with Oscar Collazos and Santi Espinosa
- Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. – Galder Varas

Novecento to Present a Noche de Tango Show & Class, Thursday, Sept. 26 and Thursday, Oct. 10
It takes two to Tango! To celebrate the Argentina tradition, Novecento will host a Noche de Tango Show & Class in CityPlace Doral’s Fountain Plaza with Armando Orzuza and Nuria Martinez, dancers who have vast experience in the Tango dance industry. The free events will take place on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. Following the Tango show, guests will enjoy a free Tango class and samplings from Novecento’s menu.
Orzuza, born in La Boca, Buenos Aires, began his professional Tango journey as a sound technician in a Buenos Aires tanguería, immersing himself in the vibrant Tango culture. He started dancing 10 years later, learning from original milongueros, and launched his career in 1990 with Daniela Arcuri. Orzuza and Martinez have performed in Alan Parker’s “Evita” and Madonna’s 2004 tour, Assassination Tango, Jazz at Lincoln Center and “We” with Jon Secada.

Third Annual “Día de Muertos” (Day of The Dead) Celebration
The community is welcome to CityPlace Doral’s Third Annual Day of The Dead – Día de Muertos – celebration. The month-long activation will recognize this culturally rich Latin American tradition.
Starting Tuesday, Oct. 1, CityPlace Doral will be vibrantly decorated with gorgeous colorful Día de Muertos-themed decorations through Nov. 2. At the main entrance, guests will be welcomed by a wooden calavera (sugar skull) and colorful Marigolds overhead. Sugar skulls will be displayed throughout City Place Doral and the Fountain Plaza will be ornamented with an altar display of a trío catrines (male skeleton figures) with flowers, Marigolds and more. All items are hand-crafted by Artistic Elves.
¿Por Qué No? Salsa Wednesdays at Copper Blues Rock Pub and Kitchen, Wednesdays in September and October
Copper Blues Rock Pub and Kitchen will host ¿Por Qué No? Salsa Wednesdays every Wednesday in September and October. The free event, hosted by Miami Salsa Scene, will feature a salsa class and 50% off drinks for the ladies every Wednesday at 9 p.m.

Miami Spice returns to CityPlace Doral! Through Sept. 30, diners can enjoy the Magic City’s annual prix-fixe summer dining extravaganza with affordable menus for brunch, lunch and dinner. The following CityPlace Doral restaurants are participating in Miami Spice by offering special promotions:

“Magic City: Contemporary Visions of Miami” at DORCAM, through Oct. 31
Doral Contemporary Art Museum (DORCAM) is pleased to present the exhibition, “Magic City: Contemporary Visions of Miami,” curated by Ronald Sánchez of Laundromat Art Space. “Magic City: Contemporary Visions of Miami” is a captivating exhibition that delves into the multifaceted essence of Miami by exploring a diverse array of topics that define the city, including its vibrant nightlife, stunning architecture, the dynamic stories of immigration, the challenges and opportunities of economic mobility, the complex issue of gentrification and the pressing concerns of climate change. Each element is thoughtfully presented to offer a comprehensive understanding of what makes Miami truly unique.
The exhibition features works from participating artists including Mark Herrera, Claudio Marcotulli, Dre Martinez, Pablo Matute, Stephanie Silver, Chantae Elaine Wright, Julia Zurilla and Chantae Elaine Wright.
“Magic City: Contemporary Visions of Miami” will be on view at CityPlace Doral in Suite 216 until Oct. 31, and open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
