Comcast RISE Grants is Giving 600 Businesses $10,000 Monetary Grants Applications Opens October 1st

Comcast RISE is offering $10,000 grants to small, minority-owned businesses in Miami-Dade and Broward.

Many small businesses are still dealing with the ongoing financial impacts of the pandemic. Some of the hardest hit businesses are those owned by black, Hispanic and people of color (BIPOC). 

Businesses owned by blacks declined by 41%, Latin-owned businesses declined by 32%, and Asian-owned businesses dropped by 25%. per the National Bureau of Economic Research, between February and April 2020.

Comcast has created an initiative to empower small, minority-owned businesses. The Comcast RISE Investment Fund program will offer $10,000 grants to 600 businesses, totaling $6 million dollars. The funds will be distributed as follows:

100 Small businesses in Miami-Dade and Broward counties will be awarded $10,000 each. 

Five other specific metro areas will each receive 100 grants, totaling 600 grants.

Many Doral Chamber of Commerce members recently applied for the recently offered RISE Technology Grants, including Elite Press Cleaners and A New Way Day Services. 

In order to qualify for the grant, small businesses must have one to 25 employees, have established business operations for at least three years, and be located in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

The application period is October 1-14, 2021. Grants will be announced at the end of November 2021 and awarded in December 2021.
