The Miami-Dade County Transportation and Public Works Committee on July 18 advanced plans for installing two new traffic signals in Doral.
Both proposed traffic signals, which have been requested by the City of Doral, would be located on Northwest 74th Street – one at 102nd Avenue, and the other at 97th Avenue. The city would pay for 25 percent of the $750,000 total cost, with the rest coming from previous developer contributions and road impact fees.
Final approval by the full Board of County Commissioners is slated for consideration on Sept. 5.
“This joint participation agreement between Miami-Dade County and the City of Doral will alleviate traffic in this area and will improve safety for both pedestrians and motorists,” said Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, whose district includes Doral.
