DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA) and a leading provider of kidney care services, announced Dec. 9 that the DaVita Doral Kidney Center has been recognized as a four star center by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Nationwide, DaVita Kidney Care has 50 percent of all four-and five-star centers, the highest in the industry. CMS’ Five-Star Rating system was created to increase transparency and help empower patients make informed decisions about their care.
Within the CMS’ Five-Star Rating system, each dialysis center that provides in-center hemodialysis (excluding centers in hospital settings) receives a rating between one and five based on clinical performance and patient outcomes.

In the government’s Medicare’s Quality Incentive Program, DaVita Kidney Care outperformed other major dialysis providers with more than 98 percent of the company’s centers ranking in the top clinical performance tier.
