Doral Business Council Signature Breakfast on June 9th, held at the Intercontinental Hotel, featured the Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami, Philip Wang. DBC Chairman, Bruce Siddens, of Sam’s Club, welcomed Director General Wang who was the first diplomatic member to arrive at the regional Taiwanese office in South Florida in 1988. Philip Wang later returned to South Florida to take the position of director general in 2013. Following the Doral Business Council’s involvement with the recent Asian Gala, his presentation at the breakfast was timely.
Philip, a Coral Gables Rotarian, has a great way of engaging his audience with humor and knowledge providing a great resource for Taiwanese companies and those local companies wishing to do business with them.
Teresa Tundidor, of Mercantil Commercebank, also addressed the crowd as the chair of the DBC’s International Committee, followed by Fabiola Dolcine, of Florida Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association that was the highlighted nonprofit member whose Executive Director is the DBC Treasurer, Barbara Pimentel. The FCBA is yet another great resource for businesses in our community and currently houses the DBC office in their beautiful offices located at 8228 NW 14 Street, in Doral.
With Father’s Day days away, Dave Gergely, of Shula’s Golf Club, and Sylvia Loesche, of Don Shula’s Hotel, were on hand at the breakfast with gifts for fathers. Each one attending was given a complimentary foursome of golf at Shula’s. Lots of happy dads were very appreciative of this generous gift.
With several networking events in the works for July, the DBC board opted to take a breakfast meeting break in July and will resume the Signature breakfasts in August on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
