December in Doral brings snow, Santa, and holiday cheer

Holiday cheer has arrived in Doral with a series of events for everyone to enjoy, including “Light up the Night,” which took place Dec. 4, at the Doral Government Center – as the city lit the menorah and recognized first responders for keeping residents safe over the holidays.

Also, on Dec. 7, a Park & Tree Lighting Celebration took place, presented by Jackson Health System, at Downtown Doral Park. The event included a special ceremony, lighting of the park, and other live performances.

The celebration continues Dec. 14, 6-10 p.m., with the biggest event, Holiday Lights & Ice presented by Doral Toyota. Residents and guests will witness as Doral Central Park becomes a winter wonderland with 85 tons of snow to play in. After sliding down the snow slide, they are invited to take a whirl on the mechanical rides and dance along to holiday-themed performances.

Admission to this event is free, however, unlimited-ride wristbands, cost $5 each (cash only). Pre-sales of wristband tickets are available at Morgan Levy Park and Doral Legacy Park through Dec. 10.

On event day, on-site parking will be available for a (cash-only) fee of cost $5. There also will be free off-site parking available with a complimentary trolley service to and from the event. For off-site parking location information, follow Doral on social media @CityOfDoral.

The city thanks the following sponsors for their part in bringing the community together to celebrate the holidays: Jackson Health System (Presenting Sponsor), Doral Toyota (Presenting Sponsor), Cricket Wireless, Revolution 93.5, and Elite Spine.
