The Model United Nations team from Divine Savior Academy represented their school at the University of Central Florida Model UN Conference Oct. 26-28.

It was the team’s third conference ever, and very successful. Senior Valeria Bermudez represented in a Crisis committee for the Amazon Board of Directors and brought home a Verbal Commendation.

Junior Diego Curbelo represented Divine Savior in a General Assembly committee for the U.S. Senate. He was crowned the Best Delegate, receiving the highly coveted gavel. This was the first ever gavel to have been won for Divine Savior Academy. Divine Savior is proud of all 12 delegates who represented the school and took risks in their committees.

Model United Nations is an opportunity for students in middle school and high school to put into practice critical thinking skills along with speech and debate, while also meeting students from other schools.

The Divine Savior Model United Nations team is under the direction of Jenny Tenyer, who stated, “They all did a phenomenal job in their individual committees and it was awesome to see all of the students taking risks and becoming more confident through this beneficial club.”
