After years of anticipation and a total transformation under the leadership of Mayor Christi Fraga, the City of Doral is proud to announce the official Grand Opening of Doral Central Park – Phase 2 on Saturday, May 17, 2025. This marks the culmination of a multi-million dollar investment into our community realized in just two years—delivering the largest and most ambitious park project in Doral’s history and one of the most expansive recreational spaces in all of Miami Dade County.
When Mayor Fraga and her administration took office three years ago, Doral Central Park had been shuttered for years. In a bold commitment to the residents, the new leadership pledged to fast-track the park’s construction—and they delivered. Phase 1 opened within two years, and now, less than a year later, Phase 2 is complete. Promises made. Promises kept.
The celebration will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Doral Central Park (3005 NW 92nd Ave) and will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony with city leaders, local food trucks, family-friendly entertainment, and exclusive guided tours of the new amenities before they open to the public the following day.
“This grand opening is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we lead with vision, efficiency, and heart,” said Mayor Christi Fraga. “From day one, our administration promised to bring this park back to life for our community—and we did it. Doral Central Park is no longer a dream deferred; it’s a thriving reality where our families, seniors, and youth can grow together.”
The second phase includes the unveiling of:
- A state-of-the-art Aquatic Center with an Olympic-sized pool, a water park with splash pad, and learn to swim lessons for our residents. We look forward to partnering with Children’s trust to provide free swimming lessons to our residents so that no other child risks drowning.
- A modern Community Center with a fully equipped fitness facility, an indoor basketball court, and a dedicated Silver Club room for active older adults.
- Free childcare services while parents work out or attend wellness classes—removing barriers to a healthy lifestyle.
- Cooking classes and life skills programs for seniors and individuals with special needs, helping foster independence and engagement.
- Outdoor upgrades including new basketball and tennis courts, expanded parking, and improved access routes for increased visitor capacity.
To ensure a safe and welcoming environment, a new Park Police Unit will patrol the grounds daily and provide safety education and outreach to families and parkgoers.
In addition to the amenities, the park’s grand opening launches a wave of programs including summer camps, wellness workshops, cultural events, and more—cementing Doral Central Park as the vibrant heart of the community.
This moment is more than a ribbon-cutting—it’s a symbol of progress, perseverance, and people-first leadership. It’s a celebration of a community that believed in better—and saw it come to life.
