Doral Student Recognized as “Mayor for a Day”

 Doral Student Recognized as “Mayor for a Day”Doral, FL – On February 3rd , at 4:00 p.m., Mayor Christi Fraga and City Council will honor Doral student Megan Venus as “Mayor for a Day” in the Doral Government Center (Council Chambers). Ms. Venus is an exceptional 8-year-old student at Bridgeprep Academy in Doral. She will be recognized for her hard work at school and heroic approach to life as she has overcome health-related challenges in her life.

Earlier in the day, Ms. Venus will be surprised at school and celebrated by Mayor Fraga along with her classmates. After which she will receive a VIP escort from school to the Doral Government Center to receive the special recognition among family, friends and foundations that have been a part of her journey.

This special day came to be because of “Make Your Dream Come True Day” in January, when Mayor Christi Fraga put out a call for nominations to the community to select a student in Doral to be named “Mayor for a Day”. Following a great response from the residents, Ms. Megan Venus was selected.
