The American Welding Society has acquired World Engineering Xchange (WEX), the former sales and fulfillment partner for the publications of the American Welding Society.
The publication sales division renamed AWS Technical Standards Sales department will continue to operate the AWS Bookstore, housed at AWS’s global headquarters in Doral.
The Opa Locka-based WEX served as the publication sales arm of AWS for the past nine years, employing seven who will now transition as AWS employees and continue providing quality and experienced service to members and customers.
AWS codes, standards and other publications are now available for purchase directly from the Society at www.pubs.aws.org.
The American Welding Society (AWS) was founded in 1919 as a multifaceted, nonprofit organization with a mission to advance the science, technology and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes worldwide, including brazing, soldering, and thermal spraying.
Headquartered in Doral and led by a volunteer organization of officers and directors, AWS serves more than 70,000 members worldwide and is composed of 22 Districts with 250 Sections and student chapters. For more information, visit the society’s website at www.aws.org and click “Pressroom.”
