A Safe Haven for Newborns 4th Annual Golf Tournament is back at Trump National Resort on Friday, May 4th. This is one of A Safe Haven for Newborns’ big fundraisers and is certainly one that golfers love attending. Tee times are available 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sponsorships are still available; so, those interested should call Nick at 305 882-1304 X 103. Covid protocols will be in place and, while things will be different, you can bet it will be a fun day on the Red Tiger Course and all for a great cause. Thanks to events such a this one, Nick Silverio and ASHFN, have saved from abandonment 332 babies since Nick started his passionate mission to save the most vulnerable. The Greater Miami Festivals and Events Association (GMFEA) will hold its annual conference on June 17, 2021, at The Fair. Having outgrown their previous site, the new location at one of The Fair’s exhibition halls provides a great option to accommodate the many vendors and attendees. This conference is a valuable resource for event planners, festival organizers and businesses with whom they provide services and products. A little further north, there’s a newly opened Miami Lakes Farmers Market that will be open every Saturday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., on New Barn Road and Main Street. Shoppers will enjoy a selection of fresh produce, natural juices, assorted flowers, cultural foods, and handcrafted accessories.

In other news, Orchestra Miami’s Discover Miami through Music will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Coral Gables Woman’s Club at 8 p.m. offering in person and online ticket options. The concert will include chamber music by a great list of all female composers. Discover Miami through Music concerts allows us to learn more about our collective history, and each other, through concerts performed in various local landmarks and places of historic interest.
Founded in 2006 by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi, Orchestra Miami exists to build community through music. Look for performances by Orchestra Miami’s Concert Master Mei Mei Luo, who holds the Leo N Rinaldi Concert Master Chair, Violinists Karen Lord-Powell and Dina Kostic, Violist Chauncey Patterson, Cellist Aaron Merritt, Bassists Janet Clippard and Brian Powell and Orchestra Miami’s Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi on the piano. In addition, CGWC President Ruth Martinez will also on had to give the audience a brief history of the clubhouse, a registered historic site.

Speaking of great events, Coral Gables Woman’s Club is hosting a Mother’s Day Tea at their historic clubhouse , 1001-9 East Ponce de Leon Blvd., on May ,8th, the Saturday before Mother’s Day to benefit the club’s free children’s dental clinic. The will be a beautiful High Tea with delicious teas, food, selected vendors and a silent auction. Tickets are $60 or, for those who want unlimited Bubbly, the price is $75. This is a great way to treat your mother, aunt, sister or anyone special in your life.
