We have known Juan Carlos “JC Bermudez for years as the Mayor of the City of Doral. He is a steady hand at the City of Doral and will bring the same no-nonsense leadership style to Miami-Dade County as the District 12 Commissioner.

As the founding Mayor of the City of Doral, he has fought for the most vulnerable in our community, worked for transparency in government and led in ethics. He has also advocated for human rights and championed freedom for the people of his native Cuba.

Mayor Bermudez is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the United States Conference of Mayors, and is the Vice Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Transportation Planning Organization.

Mayor Bermudez has served as a Board Member of the Florida League of Cities, Miami-Dade County League of Cities, Florida League of Mayors and The United States Conference of Mayors, where he also chaired the International Affairs Committee. His fellow elected officials selected Mayor Bermudez as the President of the Miami-Dade County League of Cities in 2010-2011. Additionally, he serves on the Beacon Council Board and received the Good Government Award from the Greater Miami Chamber of commerce in 2009.

Mayor Bermudez graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He has practiced law in South Florida for over 32 years.

Mayor Bermudez has been married to Vivian Bermudez, a special education teacher for almost three decades. They have three children: Eneida Marie, Elena Catherine, and Elisa Nicole, and have resided in Miami-Dade District 12 for the past 22 years.

For these reasons and more, we recommend Mayor JC Bermudez as District 12 Commissioner.

  1. With all due respect to Michael Miller and Grant Miller, who I love dearly, you have made a big mistake endorsing Bermudez!

As CEO, President and Co-founder of the Doral Chamber of Commerce, and having experienced the tyranny of this Mayor, it is my opinion that this person does not have the best interest of Doral, nor that of Miami-Dade County in mind.

Let’s ask Mr. Bermudez why he hasn’t supported local businesses and why he did not stand up for businesses during the pandemic. Ask him why there were zero dollars from the Doral treasury used to save Doral businesses during their stuggles. The only dollars used to support and save local businesses were from the Cares Act, given to Doral by Miami-Dade County.

Ask him why during the 2020 campaign he attacked me personally using the City Attorney as his conduit to ask for numerous and unrelentless number of documents from the Doral Chamber of Commmerce, who’s transparency is clear!?

Ask him why he asked for 25% commission from a company who wanted assistance from him to get contracts from him while he was a sitting mayor of Doral?

Ask him why he hasn’t fought for our Doral Police officers in their contract negotiations? Ask him why there’s low morale in Doral PD?

Ask him why he was found responsible for the manipulation and firing of an officer that eventually cost the City of Doral over $400,000?

Ask all the right questions then reevaluate your “endorsement” of this inept candidate!

Or better yet, interview me on your shows so that you can hear the real stories of the Doral Mafia and J.C. Bermudez!
