Juan Carlos Esquivel Launches Candidacy for Doral City Council Seat 3, Promises Community-Driven Leadership

The well-loved community leader, Juan Carlos Esquivel, is officially running for Doral City Council Seat 3. He kicked off his campaign with a bang on Tuesday, May 21 at noon, marking the start of an exciting journey toward the municipal elections set for November 5, 2024.

 

Juan Carlos, who has been a driving force in local organizations for over 30 years, shared in a live broadcast that he was motivated to run by the strong support of Doral residents. He believes he has the passion, experience, and honesty needed to make a real difference on the city council.

 

“Our city has grown so much, and we need leaders who really understand what our communities need and who are ready to tackle the challenges ahead,” said Juan Carlos, a Cuban-Venezuelan businessman with deep roots in Doral.

 

With a track record of public service that includes work on several citizen committees and leading community initiatives, Juan Carlos is a seasoned and trustworthy choice for Doral voters.

 

“My commitment is to every single resident of Doral. We want a safer, more prosperous, and more inclusive city with less traffic. We need to improve our quality of life—that’s my promise,” he said, highlighting the importance of enhancing the city’s public transportation system.

 

“I’m not here to compete or play revenge politics. I’m here for the community: I’m a resident who knows what Doral needs, and that’s the direction we’re heading,” he declared, standing next to his wife Nancy as he filed his candidacy at the City Clerk’s Office.

Juan Carlos’s run comes at a crucial time for Doral, a city that has seen rapid growth and change. Issues like urban expansion, integrating new communities, and modernizing public services are key points in his campaign.

 

Throughout his campaign, Juan Carlos plans to host community meetings and open forums to dive deep into his ideas and hear from residents. “I believe in a transparent and participatory government. My goal is to build bridges and find solutions together,” he said with a smile.

In the past 18 months, Juan Carlos served as Chairman of the Business Economic Advisory Board. He’s a passionate activist, having worked with the community for about eight years to remove the garbage incinerator from Doral. He’s also a relentless advocate against the abuse of condominium associations, always striving to improve the quality of life for Doral residents.
