The Latino Center on Aging (LCA) honored Carlos L. Martinez with the Home Care Leadership Award last month at its 30th Golden Age Awards Gala at the Pullman Miami Airport Hotel. The honor was bestowed upon Martinez by Mario Tapia, CEO and president of LCA.
The Golden Age Awards were established in 1993 in New York and are given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the aging Latino/Hispanic communities throughout the world. It was founded in 1991 to enhance the living conditions of Hispanic elderly through education and advocacy.
For 45 years, United HomeCare (UHC) has served as a pioneer, not-for-profit 501 ©(3) home and community care organization, dedicated to providing home care services to Frail Elderly and Disabled Adults living throughout South Florida.
Through Martinez’s leadership, UHC has thrived in its mission to help individuals live independently at home with dignity, respect, and the support services they need to prevent or delay institutional care.
In 2016, UHC expanded its services to provide quality, Assisted Living Care at The Residences of United HomeCare, a state-of-the-art community, located in West Kendall.
