The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Miami chapter continued its tradition of celebrating the philanthropic community at the 33rd National Philanthropy Day Luncheon, Nov. 2.

Each year this day is set aside to pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy—and the people active in Miami’s philanthropic network—have made to lives better in the local community and around the world.

In partnership with The Miami Foundation, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, AFP Miami reflected on the global impact of philanthropy and great stewardship in and celebrated the 2018 leaders at the Hilton Miami Downtown.

AFP Miami invited the community of corporate and nonprofit organizations to honor the following extraordinary individuals, including: Lifetime Achievement Award, Bob Dickinson; Outstanding Philanthropist Award, Ana Veiga Milton; James W. McLamore Outstanding Volunteer Award, Tony Argiz; Julia Tuttle Award for Community Involvement & Corporate Citizenship, Coastal Construction; Outstanding Grant Maker Award, Carnival Foundation; and the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award, Taylor Moxey.

With over 30,000 fundraising professionals across the national organization, the Association of Fundraising Professionals is well represented locally through AFP Miami. The chapter was founded in 1975, however most well known for hosting one of the first National Philanthropy Days in 1985. Today, AFP chapters throughout the world celebrate National Philanthropy Day.
