Last week, the City of Doral celebrated two unforgettable events, the Mayor & Chief’s Golf Tournament 2025 and the Inaugural Mayor & Chief’s Gala 2025, uniting community leaders, first responders, and local partners in support of programs that empower Doral’s youth and strengthen its families.
Hosted by Mayor Christi Fraga and Doral Police Chief Edwin Lopez, these signature events embodied the spirit of collaboration and service that defines Doral. Together, they raised funds for Police and Parks 4 Kids (PP4K), a local nonprofit dedicated to providing mentorship, educational opportunities, and recreational resources to children in need.
“These events go beyond golf and galas. They represent what’s possible when a city stands together,” said Mayor Christi Fraga. “Our youth are the future of Doral, and through partnerships like this, we’re investing not only in their success but in the heart and strength of our entire community. I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished with Chief Lopez, our sponsors, and every resident who believes in this mission.”
The week began on Wednesday, October 22, with the Mayor & Chief’s Golf Tournament at Trump National Doral Miami, where participants teed off in a friendly yet impactful competition. The event featured a Presentation of Colors by the Doral Police Honor Guard, remarks by Mayor Fraga and Chief Lopez, and a spirited morning of play among city officials, local businesses, and supporters. The day concluded with an awards luncheon and networking reception, celebrating both the winners on the course and the greater purpose behind the event.
On Friday, October 24, the celebration culminated with the Mayor & Chief’s Inaugural Gala, also held at Trump National Doral Miami. Guests arrived for a red-carpet evening celebrating unity, philanthropy, and community leadership. The gala featured live entertainment, engaging program activities, and remarks from Mayor Fraga and Chief Lopez, highlighting the organization’s impact and vision for Doral’s youth.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to more than public safety — it’s about building relationships and creating pathways for our youth to thrive,” said Chief Edwin Lopez. “Through events like these, we are reinforcing the values of service, integrity, and hope that make Doral such a special place.”
Together, the Golf Tournament and Gala raised $355,000 for youth programming that promotes leadership, character development, and recreation, ensuring that every child in Doral has access to opportunities that inspire growth and confidence.
The City of Doral extends its sincere appreciation to the sponsors, volunteers, and participants who made both events possible. Their generosity and engagement reflect the city’s unwavering dedication to nurturing a stronger, safer, and more united community.
