Miami Christian School seniors and recent graduates are an impressive lot. Senior 2015 Valedictorian Alina Andrews scored a perfect “Five” on her Advanced Placement Calculus BC exam. Over the summer, Senior Mark Rodriguez (’16) is taking a Dual Enrollment Course at Eastern Washington University in Photography that required a photographic portfolio for admittance. He’ll take a trip to get new photos. At Que Belle Events in Doral, Linda Russo (‘16) is completing a summer internship in Hospitality Management, a field in which she expects to major in college.
On the faculty front, MCS has appointed Malika Wright to teach high school English and journalism for the upcoming year. A graduate of the University of Florida with concentrations in journalism and leadership, she was previously with Broward County public schools and Miami Carol Senior High. Wright has written for The Miami Times, The Gainesville Sun, The South Florida Times and Tower Publications, Inc.
Another great addition to the school’s faculty IS Bo Kim who will teach high school science during the 2015-16 year. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemisty, Kim is completing her a Secondary Education Masters Degree in Chemistry at St. John’s University, Philadelphia. Her educational experience has extended to Washington, DC, where she was featured speaker at the 2013 “City National Leadership Summit,” as well as overseas in both Thailand and Albania.
Over the summer Miami Christian has undergone some big changes to its campus with new baseball and soccer fields, renovated bathrooms and more.
