MCS high school students took full advantage of the school’s annual Fall Trip to Teen Valley Ranch in North Carolina.
Featuring the fun: horseback riding, zip lining, white water rafting, miniature golf, frisbee football, hiking, and rock wall climbing
While such activities provided challenges as well as bonding and learning experiences, time was also set aside for spiritual growth with worship and sharing each day.

Elementary school students celebrated International and Hispanic Heritage Day with class activities and a colorful school wide parade with students and teachers dressed in the attire of their family heritage, accompanied by mariachi musicians.
Parents also joined the celebration and brought specially prepared foods for an international meal enjoyed by all. Middle school students created projects for the event and were treated to international dishes as part of their day’s activities.

Kudos go out to MCS’s organic garden director, Charlene Coulter, awarded a Fairchild Tropical Garden Grant to assist in the purchase of materials and supplies for the school’s garden.
As in the past, sales proceeds from the garden will again support Sunil’s Home Orphanage in India, a pet project of MCS students for more than five years. Elementary students currently working diligently in the garden are now beginning to see the fruits of their efforts.

MCS is most grateful to Orestes Alvaro and The Brickman Group for that company’s assistance in ridding our trees of white flies. A few years back, The Brickman Group provided a major landscaping job for the school during a half-day marathon of planting as its donation. The Brickman Group continues to lend its support and advice to MCS.

Speaking of volunteer efforts, the MCS Parent Teacher Fellowship held its first ice cream social in October while the weather was still warm. Students were delighted to purchase cold refreshments, including an assortment of ice cream treat toppings as school let out for the day.

On the sports scene, MCS Senior Andre Bergouignan distinguished himself as the best football rusher in the league, amassing 104 yards on 17 carries during the game against Westwood Christian.
Miami Christian School, a fully SACS and ACSI accredited college preparatory school, provides strong programs in academics, athletics, and activities. Students may participate in Advanced Placement, Scholars, Honors, and Dual Enrollment programs, and the school offers ESOL and an ESE Resource room. Victor Academy is a fully SACS-accredited online program for nontraditional education.
