As summer comes to an end, Miami Christian School welcomes back students, enrolling even more new students than last year and catching up with recent graduates who share their summer activities.

Over the summer, parents were invited to visit the campus and, in late August, most all attended the annual “Back to School” evening that also served as a way to fill required forms while enjoying refreshments, getting re-acquainted and visiting classrooms to chat with teachers.

Among the alumni reporting back to MCS on their summer activities, were two stand-outs.

Kunal Khiyani, co-Valedictorian of the Class of 2012 and a junior at UPenn, spent the summer with a paid internship for Kae Capital in Mumbai, India. As a freshman, he attended the Wharton India Economic Forum, and continued networking with individuals from the firm he had met at the forum. After a two-tiered interview process with the Investment Director and then with a Managing Partner, Kunal was accepted for the summer position.

In addition, Kunal was involved in Financial Modeling and worked with businesses, calculating possibilities to reduce costs and increase revenue.

Alumna Melissa Gonzalez, Valedictorian of the Class of 2014. spent part of her summer working in sales and modeling for Ranees Fashions, including travel to Las Vegas for a trade show. Melissa will attend Florida International University on scholarships to study business.
