OrthoNOW hosts franchise convention exploring latest in healthcare delivery

At its recent third annual Franchise Convention at the state-of-the-art MARC Institute, OrthoNOW recently welcomed over 100 entrepreneurs, suppliers, media, and other leaders in the $48 billion orthopedic industry. Doral-based OrthoNOW is the nation’s first and only orthopedic care franchise.

The event kicked off with a keynote speech by Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez, who then introduced his long-time friend, OrthoNOW CEO Alejandro Badia. Over 20 C-level executives, thought leaders, and medical experts provided presentations, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and training sessions on the latest news, developments and best practices in healthcare delivery.

Topics included: Equipping the Center of the Future, Telemedicine, Franchise Growth Models, Price Transparency, Orthobiologics, Opioid-free Treatment of Chronic Pain, Corporate Wellbeing, Arthritis Awareness, and Patient Engagement.

“It’s a true pleasure to see so many people engaged in our mission,” said Dr. Badia, founder of OrthoNOW. “This started as a dream eight years ago and has certainly come a long way since then. Seeing this level of collaboration among industry leaders fills me with pride and hope for the future of our healthcare system.”

He continued, “Our unique ability to provide accessible and legitimate treatment of conditions like arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders are some of the ways we are impacting communities across the country. The groundswell of support evident at the convention reflects the importance of the evolving healthcare delivery models such as the ones that Amazon, Apple and others are only now starting to think of.”

Dr. Badia, who began franchising in 2014, is an internationally renowned hand and upper extremity surgeon, along with business partner, finance-industry expert and Wharton alumnus, Justin Irizarry. Their disruptive concept is transforming traditional healthcare delivery models by achieving the industry’s “quadruple aim:” better outcomes, lower costs, improved patient experience, and improved clinician experience.

All OrthoNOW walk-in Centers are focused on the immediate treatment of chronic pain and orthopedic injuries, as well as preventative consultation and regimens by experts in orthopedics and workers compensation injuries. OrthoNOW’s flagship center is in Doral, with franchised centers across Florida and Georgia. Centers also are coming soon to Michigan and Ohio.
