Palmetto General Hospital Hosts Grand Opening Of The New Clinical Decision Unit

Palmetto General Hospital is hosting a free community event to celebrate the grand opening of the Clinical Decision Unit. Activities will include art exhibits, farmer’s market health corner and food trucks. Free Health Screenings will also be offered. We will also be having a kiddie corner where we will offer car seat and bike helmet checks, a teddy bear clinic and kids teaching kids healthy snack presentation.  Los Tres de la Habana will provide the entertainment. The CDU is an observation area that provides ongoing patient care, short term treatment, diagnostic testing and assessment. Observation services are commonly ordered for patients who enter the Emergency Department and who require more time for the physician to determine if they need additional inpatient treatment or may be safely discharged.
