Former Food Network Star finalist, Miami-born Chef Chris Valdes recounts his story of resilience and the importance of family, plus 70 of his favorite recipes

Chef Chris Valdes, the Miami-born philanthropic chef who donated more than 40,000 meals during the COVID-19 pandemic and rose to fame as a finalist on Food Network Star, today announced his self-published, debut book: One with the Kitchen. Available now on Amazon, One with the Kitchen is part autobiography, part cookbook, and follows the story of how Chef Chris Valdes found his voice through food.

The book begins with Chef Chris’ autobiography, where he recounts growing up in the kitchen admiring his stepmom’s cooking, rising through the ranks from dishwasher to line cook, starting a catering business at just 19 years old, and the triumphs and tribulations that shaped him into the hardworking, inspiring chef he is today.

Known for fusing his Latino roots with his affinity for finger-licking, approachable dishes ranging from Caribbean to classic American, Italian, and more, One With the Kitchen includes 70 of Chef Chris’ most popular and signature recipes.
