On November 1, 2024, School Board Member Roberto J. Alonso, District 4, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jose L. Dotres, Hialeah Gardens Elementary School Principal Idaniel Gonzalez, Hialeah Gardens Councilman Rolando Piña, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez, District and Region administrators, and community leaders gathered at Hialeah Gardens Elementary for a groundbreaking ceremony to symbolically break ground on a new $8M facilities enhancement project.
This project will significantly enhance the school’s infrastructure by adding more classrooms, expanding parking and covered walkway, and updating the fire alarm system. This project is made possible thanks to the community’s support through the 2012 voter-approved General Obligation Bond, which is funding modernization and construction across the District. These improvements aim to increase student capacity, enhance safety, and provide essential technology upgrades for all schools.
“We had a great day celebrating this event with the students of Hialeah Gardens Elementary and our community. This construction project will improve the school’s facilities and positively impact our students’ learning experiences,” said Board Member Alonso. “I would like to thank the community for their generous support in making this project possible.”
