The fall-inspired community event welcomed local families to celebrate the season of gratitude
Westend on 87th – the family owned and operated retail destination that has served the Doral community for more than 20 years – hosted its 3rd Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 28th. School of Rock Doral, one of Westend on 87’s newest tenants, headlined the event with its house band performing a live concert for about 150 guests of all ages.
The Fall Festival is one of many free events Westend on 87 offers throughout the year with the goal of contributing to the whole health and wellness of the Doral community.
In addition to the live performances by School of Rock Doral’s House Band, this year’s Fall Festival featured trick or treating, craft projects, a balloon artist, face painting, raffle prizes, and more. Raffle prizes included a one-month music program at School of Rock Doral, gift cards for dining at Eparepa, gift cards for dry cleaning services at Elite Press, and special edition ashtrays from Sabor Havana Cigars.
“Fall is a special time of year that we enjoy celebrating at Westend on 87,” said Silvia J Fernandez, Westend’s Managing Director. “Our annual Fall Festival gives us the opportunity to show our gratitude for the Doral community, inviting families and friends to celebrate the season and enjoy time together.”
Located at 2600 NW 87th Avenue in the heart of Doral, Westend on 87th is home to a unique and impressive mix of over 30 tenants. In addition to its annual Fall Festival, Westend hosts complimentary wellness classes for the community once a month through its Well at Westend initiative in partnership with the City of Doral.
New to the Doral community (but not South Florida), School of Rock recently opened its music studio at Westend on 87, representing its fifth location in the region. The music school offers music programs for all skill levels, ages and musical aspirations and combines one-on-one lessons with group band practices, including programs for kids ages 6 and up and adults.
School of Rock’s House Band music program gives students from ages 5 to 18 the opportunity to join a gigging band composed of fellow musicians from the school, performing live shows throughout the year. House Band members become leaders in the School of Rock community and perform live shows at rock venues throughout the year.
