A Doral student has been selected to be featured in a bilingual children’s book with the Hispanic counterpart of the tooth fairy, according to a Mar. 5 announcement by Delta Dental Insurance Company.
Zachary Mardini, 10, who attends Eugenia B. Thomas Elementary School was the winner of a Miami competition for the bilingual publication titled “The Adventures of Ratoncito Pérez in Miami” that teaches children about dental hygiene through a fun narrative.
Last fall at 18 Navarro stores throughout South Florida, Delta Dental held “The Fair of Little Smiles,” a series of educational health events teaching good dental hygiene, providing free screenings and a chance for children to enter the contest.
“We congratulate Zachary for winning Miami’s Little Smile and being a part of the fun and educational storybook that will teach good dental hygiene to children in all Miami,” said Solomon Romano, Hispanic marketing manager for Delta Dental.
