Back-Chat: What’s In Your Container?
February 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free
Back-Chat is a quarterly online series of socially relevant talks showcasing the experiences of diasporic cultural producers, scholars, and artists who have benefited from DVCAI’s programs and support since 1996.
The session will take place online on Zoom on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, USA. Using the current DVCAI exhibition and curatorial initiative, ‘The Container Project’, mounted at DVCAI at Barry University, Monsignor William Barry Library as a launching point for creative dialogue, the virtual program is led by DVCAI Founding Curator, Rosie Gordon-Wallace, in conversation with visual artists Shayla Marshall and Natou Fall. The dialog explores artistic practices, responsive artmaking, and the activation of the gallery space.
The Back-Chat program is inclusive of all community members and visitors seeking a connection to the arts. The Zoom session includes a feature that enables automatic captioning. The active chat feature allows text submissions of questions and comments, subject to the event rules. To request materials in an accessible format, please contact Rosie Gordon-Wallace, DVCAI President and Curator, at rosie@dvcai.org or by phone at (305) 542-4277 at least five days in advance.
