Changing Seas Dine-In Summer Film Series: Costa Rica’s Surfing Paradise

July 16, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

South Florida PBS Changing Seas summer screenings are back!

Join us on Wednesday, July 16th at NSU’s Halmos College of Arts and Sciences for an exciting screening of “Costa Rica’s Surfing Paradise.”

On Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, the surf break at Playa Hermosa is a world-class wave—and the heart of a vibrant ecosystem where endangered sea turtles nest. Recently named a World Surfing Reserve, it’s now the focus of a bold conservation effort, as community members work to restore forests, protect wildlife, and preserve the powerful waves that shape their way of life.

After the screening, featured experts will join us for an engaging talk-back and answer audience questions.

The event will conclude with a complimentary reception with wine and light bites.

Major funding provided by The Batchelor Foundation.

Additional funding provided by The Parrot Family Endowment for Environmental Education.
