Changing Seas Dine-In Summer Film Series: Whales in a Plastic Ocean

July 30 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join South Florida PBS and Nova Southeastern University for a Changing Seas Live Screening of “Whales in a Plastic Ocean.”

Far out in the eastern Atlantic, the Portuguese island of Madeira rises from the depths of the open ocean. Despite its remote location, the archipelago is impacted by floating plastic trash. Researchers with MARE-Madeira study the effects plastics, and their chemical compounds, have on the health of marine mammals that frequent local waters.

Following the screening, featured experts will join us for an engaging talk-back and audience Q&A.

The evening will conclude with a complimentary reception featuring wine, beer donated by LauderAle, and light bites.

Major funding provided by The Batchelor Foundation.

Additional funding provided by The Parrot Family Endowment for Environmental Education.
