German Christmas Market Brings Old-World Charm to Miami on Sunday, Dec. 1
December 1 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
FreeMake your holidays bright by attending the 20th annual German Christmas Market from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at 3010 De Soto Boulevard in Coral Gables. The event is sponsored by the Miami German Ministry at the Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ.
Admission and parking are free for the outdoor “Weihnachtsmarkt,” a family focused event with activities for children that will get you in the seasonal mood. The cozy street festival features a delightful mix of food, drinks, gifts, and decorations for sale. The annual highlight is a visit from the German St. Nicolas with a sack full of treats for the kids. Settle in for a performance of German Christmas carols by students in the German language program at Sunset Elementary School.
Enjoy traditional German cuisine and beverages, delicious home-baked cakes and pastries, and Renate’s legendary “Glühwein,” a warm, spiced drink popular during the holidays in Germany. Visit the array of stalls where vendors will be selling gifts and decorations, including the handcrafted German Advent wreaths.
