Greetings from Paradise is a love story to Coral Gables just in time for the city’s centennial anniversary. The play, taking place from April 29 through May 3, shares the beginning story of South Florida and the South Florida key players in the 1920s including Carl Fisher, George Merrick and Edward “Doc” Dammers.
The story of early Miami and Coral Gables comes to life in the 80-minute, fast-paced and entertaining one-act play written by playwright, June Thomson Morris. As the granddaughter of Lucy Mae and Robert Thomson – who the story is inspired by – June heard the stories first-hand.
Her subsequent research led to Greetings from Paradise, a true narrative that resonates 100 years later with warnings about lust, greed, land and where the insatiable desire for paradise on earth can lead.
