VolunteerCleanup.org is calling for volunteers to represent Miami-Dade during the 40th anniversary of the International Coastal Cleanup® (ICC), the world’s largest volunteer effort to remove and record trash from beaches and oceans. This year, VolunteerCleanup.org is introducing the ‘Trashathon,’ a fundraising initiative where community members and corporations can pledge a per-pound donation for all the trash removed during the high-impact event. Pledges can support the overall county-wide cleanup, a specific cleanup location, or a partner organization’s team. With an anticipated 4,000 volunteers, the #miamicleanup2025 will feature 70 cleanups, including those in neighborhoods, mangroves, beaches, and shorelines, as well as paddle and boat cleanups of Biscayne Bay’s islands.

VolunteerCleanup.Org is building a grassroots movement against marine debris by engaging volunteers to clean-up their neighborhoods, shorelines, and waterways and encouraging people to reduce their reliance on single-use plastics. Through the organization’s event management website, any clean-up coordinators can post their cleanup, making it simple for volunteers to easily find and register to participate in cleanups near them.

Wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and bring a reusable water bottle that can be refilled.
