Introduce your kids to the fun of opera as Orchestra Miami proudly presents Jack & the Beanstalk, an operatic version of the Old English fairy tale by John Davies. This hysterically funny take on the beloved tale features an adventuresome boy, his mother, a giant and his long-suffering wife, a golden hen, and magical beans! This fully staged performance features Josue Brizuela as Jack, Johan Hartman as The Giant, Isabel Breakey as The Giant’s wife, Ravenna Maer as Mrs. Nimble (Jack’s mom) and Christopher Dreeson as The Narrator/Trouble Man. The opera is fully staged by award winning director Ricky J. Martinez and accompanied by Orchestra Miami’s Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi at the piano. Full of laughter and surprises, this entertaining opera reminds kids of one of childhood’s most important lessons- treat others as you would like to be treated!
The show is on Sunday, February 15th, 3 PM at Pinecrest Gardens (11000 SW 57 Avenue, Pinecrest, 33156- free onsite parking). Advanced purchase tickets start at just $10 for kids, $15 for seniors (65 & up) & $18 for Adults. Family Packs (2 kids + 2 adults) are available for just $46. The performance lasts 1 hour and is appropriate for children ages 3 and up. Complimentary cookies and juice will be served after the show! This performance is a part of Orchestra Miami’s Family Fun Concert Series at Pinecrest Gardens. The final Family Fun Concert in the series – Let’s Dance with the Armour Dance Theatre – will be on Sunday, March 15th at 3 PM.
