Join Miami Waterkeeper for a Coral-Focused State of the Water 2024

March 5, 2024 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$100

Join us for an unforgettable evening at Miami Waterkeeper’s 5th annual State of the Water event, a convergence of conservation and innovation. This year, we spotlight the future of coral technology with a reception featuring NOAA’s STAR System, virtual reality experiences by Rescue a Reef, and 3D Printed Corals from the University of Miami’s Coral Reef Futures Lab.

The highlight of the evening will be the State of the Water address by renowned coral expert and Miami Waterkeeper’s Executive Director, Rachel Silverstein, Ph.D. Following her address, Dr. Silverstein will moderate a panel discussion on coastal resiliency, climate change threats, and the role of storytelling in environmental advocacy with esteemed experts Professor Andrew Baker, Ian Enochs, Ph.D., and Tori Linder.

The event will also honor the recipient of this year’s Porter Prize, awarded to Miami-Dade County’s very own Louis Aguirre for his exceptional contributions to environmental advocacy.
