This weekend workshop will be packed with various concepts and techniques gleaned from the 56 years of experience that Richard Notkin has enjoyed working in the medium of ceramic art.
Weaving together his notions of finding one’s own inner passions and connecting to a unique set of aesthetic and technical approaches to one’s work, Notkin will present many
of his ideas and technical processes through demonstrations and illustrated
lectures.
These will include his approach to relief tile making, plaster mixing and mold-making, casting, mural construction, small scale carving, surface detailing/trompe l’oeile effects, and much more.
The demonstrations and PowerPoint lectures will present a plethora of information to help ceramists of all levels — whether sculptors or functional potters — to expand their capabilities and ideas when they next begin a series of new work.
