Alexander Straus-Fausto, a rising international talent and now a new voice in Miami’s music scene will present his debut concert as organist at Church of the Epiphany on Wednesday Oct. 22 at 7:30pm. He will showcase the great Ruffatti pipe organ, the best organ in South Florida to the best of it’s abilities in a program featuring orchestral transcriptions of Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein, Wagner’s Tannhauser Overture, and many more concluding with Julius Reubke’s monumental Sonata on the 94th Psalm, an extremely dramatic organ work based on the 94th Psalm.
His performance will showcase the organ as few have heard it before: the fire of an orchestra, the intimacy of a single voice, and the resonance of an entire building coming alive. It promises to be a truly world-class evening of dramatic music.
