This past weekend, the internationally acclaimed Jazz in the Gardens Music (JITG) Festival celebrated its 16th year on a “sweeter level” of highlighting Black music and culture at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Over 28,000 people traveled to Miami Gardens to enjoy the popular festival, enjoy live performance by dynamic R&B, neo-soul, reggae, and gospel musical talents, and the exquisite cuisine that only South Florida has to offer.

Hosted by the City of Miami Gardens, the two-day event featured exciting performances by headliners Erykah Badu and Jill Scott along with other A-list artists like Jodeci, Ari Lennox, Keyshia Cole, El Debarge, Sean Paul, Mike Phillips, the Adam Blackstone Experience, and Chandler Moore, with actor and comedian Deon Cole serving as master of ceremonies. Beat box legend Doug E. Fresh made a special backstage appearance.

Additionally, local talent, including April Raquel, Deep Fried Funk Band, DJ Nasty & Bo Weezy, DJ Tight & She-J Hercules, Larry Dogg, Lavie, and Ronnie VOP performed on JITG’s 2nd stage throughout the festival.

The 2023 Jazz in the Gardens Festival was made possible by sponsors: Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Bank of America, Volkswagen, Calder Casino, Amscot, AARP, Horus, Tootsies, Aetna, Miami Dade Economic Advocacy Trust, Southern Glazers Wine & Spirit, and more.
