At South Florida PBS (WPBT, WXEL, and Health Channel) we hope the new month is filled with good health and love! Tune in this February for the programs you and your family love and an abundance of new premieres.

This month we shine the light programs that commemorate Black History Month such as our featured program Fight The Power: How Hip Hop Changed The World, join Chuck D of Public Enemy as he explores Hip Hop’s political awakening over the last 50 years.

Also airing this month are Nova- Star Chaser of Senegal, Driving While Black, Marching Forward, and Black Broadway: A Proud History, A Limitless Future. This February, South Florida PBS brings you Black History Month programs with a local connection such as Sweet Dillard and Independent Lens: Outta the Muck.

As we enter a new month, South Florida PBS brings you the titles you love with new episodes of Antiques Roadshow, Finding Your Roots, Nova, Nature, All Creatures Great and Small and more! COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:

Meet Miss Penny on Saturday, February 4th, at the Broward County Library 2023 ArtLit Festival! Miss Penny will be hosting a story time for kids and be available for a meet and greet with Rosie from Rosie’s Rules! Stop by the South Florida PBS booth for fun giveaways from 12-3:30PM at the South Regional/Broward College Library located at 7300 Pines Boulevard Pembroke Pines, FL 33024.

Join South Florida PBS Thursday, February 23rd, at 6PM at The American German Club for a special screening of On the Town in The Palm Beaches “Around the World” episode! Join host Frank Licari for a night filled with music, culture, food and more!

HEALTH CHANNEL:

It’s February – American Heart Month, every year, one in four people dies from heart disease. Heart disease can strike anyone, but certain individuals may be more at risk than others. Learn about the most common risk factors for heart disease and how to prevent it on the Health Channel’s original programs Doctor Q & A, Health Insiders, and Smartlife. And we can’t forget about love, this month on SEX TALK, Dr. Lia discusses a special diet that can improve your love life, the connection between sleep and intimacy, and how to work through relationships at home.
