Today, June 17, 2021, President Biden signed a bill making Juneteenth the 11th federal holiday. Juneteenth is now a day of National Commemoration.  Also on today, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, an avid Job Corps supporter, recognized the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Miami Job Corps Center for “the exemplary work they do within our community.”  These words are included in the Congressional Record by Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson dated today, June 17, 2021, Vol. 157, No. 28. Congresswoman Wilson ended her remarks with “I urge my colleagues and all Americans to please join me in recognizing the Miami Job Corps Center for its contributions and commitment to the citizens of our community, state and country.” These remarks will be entered into the Official Congressional Record.  They will then be permanently placed in the Library of Congress.

Pictured above, Ms. Mary Geoghegan, Miami Job Corps Center Director, proudly displaying the Congressional Record presented by Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson.  “We, at Miami Job Corps Center, are so fortunate to have the unending support of Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson.  It’s so amazing that she gave her remarks on the Congressional Record on such a momentous day for all people” stated Mary Geoghegan.
