Dr. Blake Estape, Dipl OM, one of South Florida’s leading acupuncturists, recently addressed the Kiwanis Club of Homestead-South Dade on the healing power of the ancient Chinese medical practice, and his presentation was a hit with club members.
“This was extremely interesting and informative,” said Kiwanis Club of Homestead-South Dade member Lew Matusow. “Dr. Estape’s presentation certainly opened our eyes about the practice of acupuncture.”
According to Estape — who opened Miami Acupuncture and Herbal Solutions (MiamiAcuSolutions.com), 9719 S. Dixie Hwy., after studying authentic Chinese acupuncture during 10 years in China — public information is the reason for the Kiwanis presentation and others in the near future.
“There are many myths and misconceptions about acupuncture,” said the Miami Killian graduate. “The more people know about the practice of Chinese medicine — which includes acupuncture, cupping and herbs — the more they’ll understand about the great benefits this practice provides.”
Titled “Old Medicine for a New Age,” Estape’s presentation gave background on acupuncture and its quantified successes and his display — which included acupuncture needles to show how small his instruments of healing actually are — form the basis for his future presentations to South Florida civic organizations called “Acupuncture Answers.”
“It’s vital that people know more about acupuncture and how it can work in conjunction with Western medicine and a healthy lifestyle to bring about healing,” Estape said.
