The African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, part of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, will present its closing Summer Arts Conservatory recitals titled, Elevation of the Arts, tomorrow August 11th at 6:00pm. During the summer, children ages 5-16 received instructions in traditional art forms including acting, dancing, music, singing, stage management, writing, fashion, cinematography, and visual arts. Fifteen of the 100 plus students will receive their own musical instruments courtesy of a donation from Instrumental Start. One new element to SAC was Village Talk where AHCAC introduced the students to notables in the entertainment world including Actress Jo Marie Payton and Alvin Ailey’s Artistic Director Robert Battle. The students were encouraged to follow their dreams. At the recitals, they will showcase what they learned in the multi-arts over the summer.
