Family Nurse Practitioner Alexia Padron has opened a new aesthetics practice in South Miami at 7800 SW 57th Avenue, Suite 100 within Beautiful Me Skin Boutique.
Padron is a Miami native who earned her Master’s Degree in nursing from the University of Miami and spent some time in London training in aesthetics under the renowned physician Dr. Raj Acquilla, where she became expert in administering injectables.
“I was fortunate to be able to work with Dr. Acquilla as part of his last small group training,” she explains.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Padron spent almost five years as an intensive care bedside nurse at the University of Miami Hospital and South Miami Hospital.
“I fell in love with nursing and especially enjoyed working in the ICU,” says
Padron. “I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. After gaining all of
that wonderful experience, I decided to make a change and become a
nurse practitioner and open my own aesthetics practice.”
Padron specializes in administering the three main injectables:
neuromodulators such as Botox, Hyaluronic Acid fillers such as Restalyne and Juvederm, and bio stimulators like Sculptra, which boosts collagen production and replaces lost volume in a more natural way. Most injectables are used to fill in areas of the face that have lost volume such as cheeks, lips and temples, but Padron also uses them on other areas of the body such as hands and necks.
“I really enjoy working with my patients and seeing their aesthetic dreams
become a reality. Our male patients come in for what we kiddingly call
‘Brotox.’”
In addition to Padron’s injectables practice, Beautiful Me Skin Boutique also
offers skincare, facials, peels, laser therapy, manicures and pedicures.
“It’s a one-stop shop,” she says with a smile.
Patients must be a minimum of 18 years or older. Botox takes a full two
weeks in order to see the full effect, she explains. After that, a tweak may
be recommended, although most of her patients don’t require additional
injections.
“I’m enjoying my new career and intend to grow the practice in the future,”
says Padron.
