Amerant Bank hosted United Way Miami’s 11th annual 5K event in Coral Gables on Saturday, May 14, as more than 500 runners, walkers, families and fitness enthusiasts came together to support United Way Miami’s mission to build a stronger Miami for all.
The Amerant Bank 5K took place outside of Coral Gables City Hall.
In partnership with Agency 44, known for producing iconic races such as the Miami Marathon, the morning began with a pre-race warm-up led by 54D coaches, Rodrigo De Ovando and Luis Calderon followed by a five-kilometer run/walk through the beautiful tree-lined streets of Coral Gables. Volunteers lined the streets to encourage runners and offer snacks and water.
After the race, participants enjoyed a festive post-race celebration with fun activities, music, food and refreshments thanks to all the Amerant Bank 5K sponsors.
“It was amazing to see the community come together in support of United Way Miami’s mission and efforts to support a healthy lifestyle,” said Joe Zubi, interim president and CEO at United Way Miami.
“We look forward to working with Amerant Bank throughout the next few years to continue building a stronger Miami, together,” he added.
