The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County announced today that it has named Mary Ann Sprinkle as Vice President, Development, effective February 1. A former fundraising executive with University of Miami and Florida Grand Opera, Sprinkle joins the Arsht Center with a deep understanding of Miami’s unique communities and a proven track record for garnering support at the highest levels of philanthropy.
“From when I first met Mary Ann about a decade ago, she has always proven to be a passionate, highly-skilled builder of community support. I am confident that her expertise will forge new paths and strengthen the Arsht Center’s resilience,” said Adrienne Arsht, Founding Chairman of the Adrienne Arsht Center Foundation Board of Directors.
“Having worked in Miami, and in the arts, Mary Ann brings deep experience, knowledge, expertise and passion for the arts and for our community,” said Arsht Center President and CEO Johann Zietsman.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be offered this wonderful position at the Arsht Center and to return to Miami where I spent 16 years of my career and have come full circle personally and professionally,” said Sprinkle.
In her role, Sprinkle will lead a team charged with growing a community of donors who support the Arsht Center’s belief in connecting people through artistic excellence and inspiring educational experiences. She will focus on long-term and project-specific growth strategies across a diverse supporter base comprised of individual donors, corporations, foundations, and government grant sources.
Prior to joining the Arsht Center, Sprinkle served as Vice President for Advancement at Emory University. In this role, she developed and implemented strategies to identify, cultivate, and successfully solicit principal and major gifts in support of Emory University programs. Prior to the appointment at Emory University, Sprinkle served as the Associate Vice President for Advancement/Chief Development Officer at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine for more than a decade. In that role, she oversaw the comprehensive teams responsible for fundraising, alumni/ae relations, grateful patient initiatives, and special events for the University of Miami Health System and the Miller School of Medicine. The Miller School of Medicine raised more than $1 billion for Momentum2: The Breakthrough Campaign for the University of Miami. Additionally, Sprinkle served as Assistant Vice President for Medical Development and Alumni Relations for the Miller School of Medicine, Director of Development for the National Parkinson Foundation, and Managing Director of Development for Florida Grand Opera. Prior to her 16 years in Florida, Sprinkle’s fundraising career was largely in the Pacific Northwest.
