Art Gallery 21, Wilton Manors’ local art gallery, will host the 12th Annual Island City Juried Art Exhibition Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony this Saturday, Sept, 16, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Island City Cultural Center located at 600 NE 21 Court in Wilton Manors, Fla.
Over 40 pieces of beautiful and unique artwork were submitted to this year’s Juried Art Exhibition by local artists, ensuring that this year’s exhibit will feature diverse and captivating artwork consisting of photography, mixed media, pencil drawings, oil paintings, sculptures, and more.
Art Gallery 21’s founder and president, Constance Ruppender, along with the organization’s board members and local volunteers will welcome attendees and artists with refreshments and music for a delightful night full of art and socializing while spotlighting and supporting local artists from Wilton Manors and the surrounding areas throughout Broward County. Art Gallery 21 board member, Matthew Dreger, curated this year’s exhibit.
This year’s judge who will select the winners and award the top three winners with cash prizes and ribbons will include local artist and art appraiser, Chris Ingalls, In addition, each of the three winners will get an exclusive art exhibit of their work, aptly titled “THE WINNERS’ SHOW” later this year, going on display for the public at Art Gallery 21 on Dec. 18th through Jan. 8, 2023. No topic or imagery concept was imposed on this year’s Juried Art Exhibition art submissions, making this year’s art show diverse, covering a variety of concepts including love, nature, celebrity portraits, character studies, abstract art, and more. Art Gallery 21 will have this year’s Juried Exhibit on display and available to the public every Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m, and by appointment through October 8, 2023.
