The Village of Palmetto Bay and ArtSouth will host their next exhibition of a local artist at Perrine Community House on Saturday, Apr. 11. The artist is Kadja and the opening reception will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Kadja is a contemporary painter known for creating surrealist compositions drawn from dreams and imagination. Through self-taught and varied techniques, he builds immersive narratives that explore human emotion, the subconscious and the illusion of control.
“I am honored to be the featured artist for April by ArtSouth Miami and the Village of Palmetto Bay for the second year in a row,” Kadja said. “This is where I debuted my first solo show so it’s an important part of my journey, and I love the ArtSouth program initiative. This year I will be exhibiting the entire collection of my Moonlight series for the first time, as well as other surrealist and landscape paintings.”
The opening reception will feature the art display, light refreshments and a chance for conversations.
“I spent part of my early childhood in Haiti before moving to Miami, an experience that deeply shaped my appreciation for cultural storytelling and visual symbolism,” he said.
“While I loved sketching from a young age, I initially pursued a career in engineering — an environment grounded in precision, structure, and problem-solving. Still, art always offered me a space for creative freedom. It became a way to break from constraint and embrace intuition, spontaneity, and emotional depth.”
Perrine Community House is located at 900 SW 97 Ave., Palmetto Bay, FL, 33157.
