Back-To-School Drive in Memory of Cesar “Echy” Echaverry

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

As we approach the one-year anniversary of losing Officer Cesar “Echy” Echaverry, the Village of Palmetto Bay’s Policing Unit is assisting the Miami-Dade Police Department with a Back-To-School drive. Echy spent much of his time off involved in charity work for children in Nicaragua. On his day of remembrance, August 17, 2023, his family will be in Nicaragua carrying on his legacy. In honor of Echy, his MDPD family will continue his legacy here in Miami-Dade County by collecting backpacks filled with school supplies in order to provide them to children in need.

Please drop off your filled backpacks in the main lobby at Village Hall, 9705 East Hibiscus Street, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157. The last day of the drive is 9 am on August 10th. Let’s honor Echy’s memory by helping our less fortunate children!
