The Junior Orange Bowl Boys’ Middle School Basketball Classic crowned its champion recently when Belen Jesuit School defeated Arvida Middle School 63-34 in the finals which took place at the Miami Springs Recreation Center.
Belen had previously defeated Curry Middle School and Palmetto Middle School in earlier action to get to the championship game. Arvida had defeated North Miami Middle School and Jose Mas Canosa Middle School on its journey to the finals.
After two years of delay because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Junior Orange Bowl Basketball Committee once again was able to recognize the great young athletes in Miami-Dade County with its eight-team event. Participants included middle school varsity teams from Rockway, Nautilus, North Miami, Jose Mas Canosa, Palmetto, Arvida, Curry and Belen Jesuit.
