BROADMOOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS “WALKSAFE” TO SCHOOL WITH UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI, JOINED BY MAYOR AND SCHOOL BOARD, OCTOBER 4TH

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The students and teachers at Broadmoor Elementary School will get a moving start to their day on the morning of October 4th as they take a walk around the neighborhood in support of Walk to School Day.

The Walk to School Day event celebrates the importance of “safe streets” – streets with shorter, safer crosswalks, slower speeds, and traffic calming measures designed to make it safe for kids to walk to school.

The event, co-hosted by the University of Miami’s WalkSafe Program and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, will feature a gathering of the student body for a neighborhood parade with Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, members of Miami-Dade’s School Board and Central Region offices, Miami-Dade Public Works’ Vision Zero team, the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization, and the Florida Department of Transportation.
