TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis is urging Floridians to take advantage of the 2023 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, which begins Monday, July 24, 2023 and ends on Sunday, August 6, 2023.
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “Getting ready for the new school year can be an expensive time for Floridians, and that is why I’m encouraging Florida families to take full advantage of the back-to-school sales tax holiday. This tax break will help families ensure their children have all the supplies they need to reach their full academic potential this school year. A huge thank you to Governor DeSantis and the Legislature for passing and signing this important sales tax holiday. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!”
During this sales tax holiday period, qualifying items will be exempt from tax, including: clothing, footwear, and certain accessories with a sales price of $100 or less per item, certain school supplies with a sales price of $50 or less per item, learning aids and jigsaw puzzles with a sales price of $30 or less, personal computers and certain computer-related accessories with a sales price of $1,500 or less, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
