Just before school began, Coral Gables Woman’s Club (CGWC) representatives, including CGWC president Ruth Martinez, delivered checks in the amount of $620 from Gringo Bingo proceeds.
Saesha, CGWC education chair, along with fundraising chair Rita Tennyson and Gringo Bingo chair Gloria Burns, joined Martinez in delivering the check for Frances S. Tucker Elementary to principal F. Pickett.
On another day, Ruth and Gloria delivered a matching $620 check to Dr. Marvin Dunn Academy for Community Education’s principal Dr. Deborah Carter at a breakfast for the teachers hosted by philanthropists Lynn Bauer and Dr. Hal Wanless. Dr. Carter also was given a donation from retired Coral Gables High teacher Joan Reitsma that same morning.
These donations were directed both school’s Principals Discretionary Funds so that they can be used where most needed.
